Hello! My name is Sophie (she/they). I am white, queer, genderqueer, neurodivergent, and live with chronic pain and dynamic disability. I am an artist, activist, adventurer, trauma survivor, and nature-enthusiast—all parts of my identity that inform the ways I show up as a therapist.

My path to becoming a therapist, and the work I do now, has been impacted by many things. I am the child of two psychotherapists, and have occupied the role of unofficial therapist for peers throughout much of my life. I move through the world as a hyper-sensitive, big-feeling human, with an ability to attune deeply to those around me. My experiences with chronic illness and chronic pain, sexual and relational trauma, coming into my queerness in my mid-twenties, and my Autism diagnosis in my late twenties have further shaped my focus and approach in my therapeutic practice.

I received my Master’s of Social Work from the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis in 2021. My professional background includes work in the field of wilderness and adventure therapy, sexuality education, LGBTQIA+ peer support, oncology grief counseling, and residential psychiatric treatment.

I currently live and work on stolen Kiikaapoi, Miami, Sioux, & Osage land, colonized as St. Louis, Missouri. Outside of my work as a therapist, I spend much of my time creating at the pottery studio, reading, powerlifting, hiking, and cuddling with my three perfect cats.
